Cost by material

MaterialInstalled rangeNotes
Seamless aluminum (5")$6–$13 / ftThe default for most homes. Rust-proof, many colors, 20+ year life.
Seamless aluminum (6" oversized)$9–$16 / ftLarge, steep or metal roofs. Pairs with 3x4 downspouts for heavy runoff.
Galvanized steel$9–$20 / ftStronger against ladders and falling limbs, but can rust over time.
Copper$25–$40 / ftPremium look for historic and high-end homes; decades of service life.
Vinyl (sectional)$3–$6 / ftCheapest up front. Brittle in Missouri freeze-thaw cycles — we rarely recommend it.

Ranges reflect typical U.S. installed pricing including labor. Your quote depends on measurements, access and material availability.

Cost of other gutter work

What moves the price

  • Total linear feet — a 1,800 sq ft ranch typically needs 150–200 ft of gutter
  • One story vs two story — height means more setup, staging and labor
  • Roof pitch and valleys — steep roofs dump more water and need larger profiles
  • Number of downspouts and how far water must be routed from the foundation
  • Fascia condition — rotted board has to be replaced before hanging new gutter
  • Color and material choice, plus add-ons like guards, splash blocks or underground drains

How to compare gutter quotes

  1. Check the gutter size — a cheap 5" bid against a 6" bid is not the same job.
  2. Ask about hangers. Hidden hangers screwed to the fascia outlast spikes by years.
  3. Confirm downspout count and where water is discharged.
  4. Ask whether fascia repair is included or billed later.
  5. Get the workmanship warranty in writing, not just the material warranty.

Gutter cost FAQs

How much does gutter installation cost for an average house?

For a typical single-story home needing roughly 150–200 linear feet of seamless aluminum, most homeowners land between about $1,200 and $2,600 installed. Two-story homes, 6" oversized gutters or fascia repair push that higher.

How much do gutter guards cost installed?

Screen and perforated guards run roughly $3–$8 per foot, while quality micro-mesh is about $8–$18 per foot installed. On a 180-foot home that's roughly $550–$3,200 depending on the system.

Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters?

Repairs (about $150–$650) win when the gutters are correctly sized and only one section failed. Once you have rust, multiple sags or repeated leaks, replacement usually costs less over the life of the system.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free and there's no obligation. We measure on site, so the number you get is the number you pay.

What time of year is cheapest for gutter work?

Late winter and early spring are usually the easiest to schedule in southwest Missouri. Prices are driven more by material costs and job size than by season.
